A Modern Alternative to Timber and Railings

Judith’s requirement was specific: she wanted to block the wind without blocking the light. Traditional timber balustrades eventually rot and require staining, while open metal railings allow the wind to pass through, making raised patios uncomfortable.

• The System 10 Solution: This design uses structural steel posts and a handrail to secure the glass panels via glazing clamps. It is one of our most popular glass balustrade systems for Sheffield gardens due to its ability to handle the wind loads associated with elevated local topography.

• Anthracite Grey RAL 7016: This specific shade has become the "gold standard" for modern renovations. We applied a dual-finish process—hot-dip galvanizing for rust protection, followed by architectural-grade powdercoating—to ensure the system remains maintenance-free for decades.

• Custom Step Section: Unlike "off-the-shelf" kits, we surveyed and manufactured a bespoke angled section to follow Judith's garden steps, ensuring the handrail remains at a consistent, safe height throughout the transition.
