Galvanised steel glass clamps for external use. Zintec is a zinc-coated steel, so the clamp carries the same dull silver-grey as galvanised metalwork.
Why galvanised rather than stainless
Because of what they sit on. The finish matches galvanised steelwork — a galvanised balustrade, galvanised posts, a galvanised external staircase. Bright or brushed stainless clamps against galvanised steel read as a different material and draw the eye to every fixing; galvanised clamps disappear into the run.
It is the same thinking behind our powder-coated clamps, which match coated and coloured metalwork instead.
Choosing the finish
- Galvanised — matches galvanised steelwork. External.
- 316 stainless, brushed — the default. Internal or external, and what we specify near the coast.
- Galvanised and powder coated — matches coloured metalwork. External.
- Plated — a stainless look at lower cost, but indoor only.
Fixing
Fixes to timber, steel or masonry with a concealed fixing behind the clamp body. Rubber inserts pack the glass and take up tolerance.
