Easy Installation Guide – Installing your Fleur De Lys washing pole is straightforward and DIY-friendly:

1. Dig a hole to the recommended depth (typically 500mm for stability).
2. Position the post (or socket if chosen), level and secure with concrete.
3. We recommend using Postcrete for fast-setting results—sets in just 5-10 minutes!
4. Tie a line between poles, around the cross-bars.
5. Wait at least 24hours before loading up your washing.

Made here, not imported

The decorative poles sold cheaply online are imported and painted rather than galvanised, and usually come in under 1mm wall thickness. This is 2mm square section, galvanised, with the pegs and the railhead top welded on. Made in our own Sheffield workshop by a family firm of over 35 years.

Things to add

A galvanised ground socket lets the pole come out for mowing or winter. We also make steel core washing line, a line prop for longer runs, and heavy duty metal pegs.
