Galvanised and powder-coated steel glass clamps for 8mm and 10mm toughened glass.
Why powder-coated rather than stainless
These are for jobs where the fittings should match the metalwork rather than contrast with it — a powder-coated balustrade, a coloured frame, a run of steelwork in anthracite or black. Bright stainless clamps on a dark powder-coated balustrade stand out; coated clamps disappear into it.
They are galvanised first and then powder coated, which is the same treatment we use on external steelwork: the galvanising does the corrosion protection underneath and the coating gives the colour. That makes them suitable for external use, unlike our plated internal clamps.
Details of the process and what to expect from a coated finish are on our material and finish standards page.
Fixing
Fixes to timber, steel or masonry with a concealed fixing behind the clamp body. Rubber inserts pack the glass and take up tolerance.
Buying the glass with it
These take our 10mm clear toughened glass or 8mm clear. For privacy on a coated balustrade, 10mm frosted is the usual choice.
We cut every panel to your own dimensions, so the glass and the fittings come from one place and actually suit each other. See all glass clamps, the full range of balustrade and handrail components, or complete metal and glass balustrade systems with the glass sized to fit.
Not sure which thickness your job needs? Our glass balustrade regulations guide explains how the handrail changes the answer. Call 0114 243 9009 or email sales@diometonline.co.uk.
