The Project: A Bespoke Entrance for a Luxury Spiral Cellar

While many assume a high-end spiral cellar requires an all-in-one provider and an astronomical budget, this project demonstrates how sourcing the technical elements directly from a manufacturer can achieve a premium result. Our client, Alex, required a high-specification automated entrance for a wine cellar located in a prominent walkway of his Sheffield home. By supplying the wine cellar glass door independently, we empowered the client to create a custom racking system while maintaining a luxury, motorized finish.

Tech Highlights: Circular Engineering and Automation

Unlike mass-produced hatches, this system was precision-engineered in our Sheffield workshop to the exact millimetre of the existing floor opening.

• Circular Hinged Design: This 1100mm diameter electric glass door features our signature Z-shaped opening, allowing for a flush, structural finish within the floor.

• Electric Automation: The unit is equipped with a smooth, motorized lift system that handles the structural weight of the toughened glass effortlessly.

• Remote Control Functionality: In addition to a standard wall switch, we supplied a remote control system to allow the cellar to be opened from anywhere in the room.

• Custom Aesthetics: To ensure the metalwork complemented the home’s interior design, the frame and glass borders were finished in Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016).

The Result: Precision Engineering from Sheffield

The finished installation sits perfectly within a main thoroughfare of the home, proving that structural glass can be both a functional floor and a striking architectural feature.
