Basic Installation Directions – Your multi-line pole is easy to set up for typical home use:

1. Dig a hole to the suggested depth (around 500mm for a stable base).
2. Position the post or socket, check it's level, and fill with concrete.
3. Choose Postcrete for fast setting in just 5-10 minutes.
4. Attach your washing lines to the fittings.
5. Give it at least 24 hours to harden before loading.

How many pulleys do you need?

Pole pulleys are sold singly, and it is worth working out the number before you order. Most people use one pulley per line — so three on a three-line pole — and you only need them at the end you want to raise and lower from. With a pole at each end of the run you can put pulleys on one side only, or on both if you would rather adjust from either end.

What else goes with it

A galvanised ground socket makes the post removable instead of concreting it in for good, handy for mowing or over winter. We also make steel core washing line, a line prop to take the sag out of a long run, and heavy duty metal pegs.

Made in Sheffield, not imported

Most multi-line poles sold online are imported and painted rather than galvanised, typically in under 1mm wall thickness. This is 2mm, and it needs to be — three lines of wet washing is a real load on a single post. Made in our own Sheffield workshop by a family firm of over 35 years.

Steel is sourced in the UK, there are no overseas components, and galvanising means it does not need replacing in a few seasons.
