DIY Style glass decking balustrade

Despite the rainy weather this week, it is still very much the middle of a UK summer and hopefully if things brighten up, we can enjoy our outdoor spaces some more. A great way to make the most of your garden is to make some improvements to the seating area; the place where you want to spend your time relaxing in the sun and a simple way to do this, is with a few toughened glass panels.

The beauty of DIY is that you actually Do It Yourself – meaning you can design your own system that works for both you and your garden. There is often a great sense of achievement through planning and building your own decking and balustrade system and then relaxing in your space once its all completed, with an even greater smile on your face knowing you saved a wad of cash!

Our latest customer Paul was savvy enough to realise that buying his own timber posts and simply using our toughened glass, clamps and handrails would save considerable fabrication costs on using steel posts but still create a stunning decking area that matched the garden theme.

Paul opted for brushed finish stainless steel glass clamps and handrail with slim-line end fittings to attach to his wooden posts. The gaps were then infilled with our 10mm clear toughened safety glass to give a clear view out into the garden and provide a wind barrier that is not gained in traditional timber spindles. The whole balcony system was provided in DIY kit form and made to measure to suit Paul’s requirements.
