Bespoke Railings & Gates
A recent bespoke project has been completed in our hometown of Sheffield- namely the design, manufacture and installation of wall-top railings and matching entrance gates. Our client Kay came to us with a requirement to make her property more secure from the front road entrance where passing youths had been causing a nuisance. We had been recommended to Kay by a friend of hers who had used our services previously.
The design brief was simple, to fabricate wrought iron railings and gates with the inclusion of timber panels to provide a higher level of privacy – Kay’s next door neighbour also opted for the same package. Kay requested that a locking mechanism be used on the gate whereby no handle was required, again to avoid any damage being inflicted by passers-by.
The wrought iron metalwork was galvanized and then powdercoated black for a high quality, low maintenance finish with longevity; the timber infill panels were custom cut from treated Iroko timber and the whole system was core-drill and grout fixed into the solid stone wall. The front gates are key-lockable but without the requirement for a protruding handle as requested.
Kay and her neighbour were extremely pleased with the overall finished products and have already requested further works on the properties by way of 2no. glass entrance canopies.
