A room with sufficient height will lend itself nicely to creating a second floor to maximize space, these dual height rooms are popularly known as a mezzanine floor whereby the top floor looks over the one beneath. The upper room can then provide a gallery area for seating, bookshelves and even a study or play area.
Installing a frameless glass balustrade system to the mezzanine creates a seamless finish whilst maintaining a flow of light without enclosing the area. Here at DioMet we have two main styles of frameless glass balustrade which are either side mounted or base fixed to the supporting floor joists. Either option can be used with a toughened and laminated glass without the requirement for a handrail and are structurally tested to ensure safety to the relevant British standards under BS EN 1090-1.
