Installing Frameless Glass Balustrades

Installing a frameless glass balustrade involves attaching a series of glass panels to a structure, such as a balcony or deck, to provide a barrier. Here are the steps (generally) involved in installing a frameless glass balustrade:

4. Install the glass panels: Place the glass panels into the base channel, and using the wedge packs provided, level and secure the glass. Make sure the glass panels are not only level but aligned with each other.

5. Install the handrail: Install the handrail if being used, which is a horizontal bar that runs along the top of the glass panels. The handrail is typically secured to the structure using rubber gaskets and generally a ‘press-fit’ – albeit often tight. A simple lubricant, such as dish soap, can assist in getting the handrail into position. 

6. Finish the installation: Once the handrail is installed, the glass balustrade is complete. Finish the installation by cleaning and polishing the glass panels and handrail, and checking all the fittings to ensure that they are secure.

Installing a frameless glass balustrade is usually a simple task for most competent builders or tradespersons but does require careful planning and attention to detail. It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and to use the proper tools and materials.
