Our client Phil requested a galvanized finish steel walk out balcony to his first-floor doors with adjoining metal staircase to the lower garden level. All the railings included toughened glass infills and raised opaque privacy glass was installed to the neighbouring elevations for privacy (and as usual, a requirement of local planning authority).
The balustrade used was a variation of our System 9 Galvanized Glass Balustrade which uses tubular posts and handrails with clamped glazing infills, in this example side mounted.
Hot-dip galvanizing is an industrial finish that is often popular with external steelwork on commercial buildings or for those requiring a more robust weatherproofing with zero maintenance . Galvanizing applies a metallic grey appearance to the steelwork and essentially weatherproofs it for upwards of 25 years; it can be painted if required, or in many cases powdercoated prior to installation to apply a colour of choice.
DioMet completed a full service of survey, design, manufacture and installation of this balcony and staircase with glass balustrades and privacy screening. Phil kindly commented on how seamless the transaction was compared to dealing with multiple other companies and offered thanks to all members involved in his project which was delivered (and installed) on time.
