Made in Sheffield

Sheffield 100 Apprenticeship Scheme – Lewis Holmes - Made in Sheffield.

The construction insider regularly reviews the world of the architectural metalworker and emphasizes the skills shortage created over the last 20 years.

But did you know, Sheffield City Council have set up a new Apprenticeship Program to help 100 young people in Sheffield into sustainable employment.

If you are willing to put the leg work in, small business employers in the city can provide an apprenticeship opportunity to a young person who is more likely to fall out of education, employment or training.

In true Sheffield fashion the employers will be offered a contribution to the cost of supporting the apprentice over the training period, which could last up to two years.

Apprenticeships provide employers with the opportunity to train young people with the skills they require for their business, as well as the young person gaining valuable work experience.

On that note we would like to welcome on board our latest apprentice architectural metal worker Lewis Holmes.
