Modern Glass Door Canopies

A toughened glass canopy can easily enhance any entrance or doorway and provide a rain cover to homeowners and visiting guests.  Small door canopies are available to buy online or bespoke canopy systems can be made to order as required. In this blog we show two recently completed glass canopies….

Toughened safety glass provides a quality of finish that simply cannot be achieved by using polycarbonate or other plastic alternatives. The toughened glass can be clear or frosted, as shown in the two recent examples below.

Glass Canopy 1

This glazed door canopy is a variation of our T1 canopy, which uses 2no.stainless steel support arms to hold the glass over the doorway. This particular canopy has extended tubular rails which in turn provide an integrated access handrail to the adjacent steps when entering the property.

This glass canopy was produced for our customer Sue in Sheffield on a supply only basis and a photo provided upon successful completion. The canopy was used to replace an old wooden and tiled structure which no longer matched the desired entrance aesthetics.

Our second example is one of our standard T2 canopies; suspended with tie-rod supports from above and supplied with frosted glass. The fittings and tie-rods are all stainless steel as used in the above example and the glass opaque (frosted) which requires a little less cleaning to stay looking like new. This glass canopy was installed for our customer Joel in London after he contacted his neighbour for our details, whom we had recently completed a similar job for.

Stainless steel is the most popular choice of material for our canopies and is always supplied in marine grade 316 material for external use- be aware of suppliers offering 304 material, which should only be used inside…….and who installs a canopy inside right!?

All our glass is toughened, kitemarked and safety glass, designed to shatter into small safe pieces if broken.
