Steel Estate Railing
Defining Boundaries
In the modern world we are all most comfortable within our own space, our own defined boundaries and like to set out our stall clearly defining what is ours. This is not a new concept, think of the Peak District and the Yorkshire Moors with many miles of dry-stone walling clearly separating fields and boundaries between land plots and territory – Or in more severe cases the Great Wall of China or the Berlin Wall.
In a much less political fashion, the everyday homeowner operates within his or her boundary. Such a boundary around the house and garden is set by roads, paths, fencing, railings, hedges or walls but within that space, what’s ours is ours. We like to have our own freedom, our own area of solitude, our land, to do with as we well and dwell in comfort in solitude or with family and friends.
Without defining a boundary, we leave a sense of openness to the world outside, and a certain vulnerability from the simple annoyance of pedestrian or vehicular infringement – turning around on your driveway or cutting the corner in your garden to save time to the more severe actions of burglary, theft and crime that would perhaps only occurred as a result of easy access. Does a burglar go to a house where they have to jump a fence, even if its only small, or to the one with no defined boundary at all that can be simply waltzed on to?
So what options are available for defining your boundary you ask? And how much is it going to cost me?
Well the answer is potentially never-ending in terms of option for walls, wooden fencing, shrubs, metal railings, glass screen, iron fences and more. Cost will of course depend on your required design, level of security, quantity and desired effect for your own home, building project or commercial premises.
For the general home-owner DioMet offer a wide variety of options, but for those with larger plots of land, we recommend our aptly named ‘estate railing’ as the ideal product. Simple to install, easy to maintain, cost effective and sturdy, this product has been popular for years on new build housing estates, large manor properties and farmland alike.
Our estate railings are manufactured from carbon steel which can easily be shaped to suit many applications including curves in roads, falls in level, corners and bends – the railings can be primer painted, galvanized or painted in situ depending on the required aesthetics.
