Toughened Glass

Toughened safety glass is the standard material used in DioMet's glass balustrades, canopies and juliet balconies.

Toughened also known as tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. The toughening process creates balanced internal stresses which cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards and therefore less likely to cause injury.

Our toughened glass can be produced in a wide range of thicknesses, sizes and finishes. Standard sized panes of toughened glass can be purchased online HERE along with a range of glazing clamps and accessories.

Various options are available such as :

  • Glass from 4mm thick to 30mm thick

  • Frosted privacy glass / opaque finish

  • Pattern imprinted glass

  • Tinted glass, most commonly grey, bronze and green tints.

  • Painted glass

  • Low Iron Glass

  • Shaped / Holed glass for a wide range of applications

  • Custom sized mirrors

  • Laminated glass

  • Heat soaked glass

All glass supplied by DioMet is kitemarked safety glass and will have polished edges, 5mm radius corners unless otherwise stated.
