Our client Jeremy is a joiner and regularly buys our staircase glass panels to renovate his customers’ old timber stairs. His most recent project also made use of the understairs void, turning it into a beautifully stylish wine storage area using his own racking design and finished off with our slimline glass door system.
Traditionally the space underneath your staircase might be closed off with a door to store your vacuum cleaner as a general junk room or even be turned into a small downstairs toilet but we much prefer this modern design to bring function and style into a hallway; creating a wine / champagne storage and showcase area with glass doors!
Our understairs glass door system uses made-to-measure 10mm clear toughened safety glass infills and minimalistic stainless-steel hinges which are bespoke fabricated to suit the angle of your staircase. Whilst we could add pull handles, our preference is the streamlined aesthetic of custom cut-out pull handles in the glass as used in this example.
All we need to design and manufacture your custom understairs glass door system are a few simple measurements. The doors can then be shipped nationwide by courier and installation should be simple for any competent DIYer or tradesperson.
