Crackle Glass Splashback

Project Completion – Private Client Kitchen Splashback - Sheffield

Our customer Jim came to us with a requirement for a glass splashback but upon visiting our premises and seeing a crackle glass table top with LED lighting, he soon changed his mind and was excited to create something a little more interesting.

The crackle glass AKA cracked ice glass comprises 3 layers of toughened glass of which the central pane is broken but remains held together within the laminate interlayers. The effect is visually striking and most impressive when it reflects light, particularly coloured light as can be achieved with an LED control panel.

The cooker hood was an awkward shape so Jim went away and created a timber template to work from – DioMet then designed this shape and incorporated it into stainless steel pressing to mount the glass and provide a rebate for the LED light strips and wiring.  

Jim can now sit and play with his LED remote and choose the colour that suits his mood- as per the pictures he has provided along with a thank-you note below:
