Improving patio space with a glass balustrade

Spending time in the garden is a joy for most homeowners and with the warmer weather heading into spring and summer, it gets us thinking about improvements and possible DIY projects to tidy up our outdoor space.

The garden is always a perfect place to make improvements; it’s an enjoyable space to spend time with family and friends whilst basking in the sunshine….and perhaps the odd shandy. Decking areas and patios are particular favourites for improvement as these are the places we spend most of our leisure time- reading books or having a BBQ with mates.

One of the most popular products that provides an instant patio area transformation is the introduction of a glass balustrade system. These attractive glazed fences can be used to form designated seating areas, barrier off certain spaces and of course provide a fall barrier for any drop in height between garden levels.

DioMet have recently completed a new stainless steel and glass balustrade system for a client in Derbyshire. The remit of works was to provide an attractive, practical and affordable glazed system to guard a fall in height at the end of a decked area to the river below. The client had young children and requested a matching glass balustrade gate to allow safe entry into the lower garden section.

One end glass panel was also made opaque to improve the privacy of the garden area from the neighbouring property. The whole system was surveyed, designed, manufactured and delivered to site for DIY kit installation by a local tradesmen.
