We have worked with Phil before, producing various items for an exciting exhibition at the RHS Tatton Park garden show a few years back, for which he won first prize! See here for more info on that, however his latest design creation was for his own garden- an entirely bespoke metal framed pergola system, complete with stainless steel wires for climbing plants.
Phil, a local chap, dropped in for a quick chat and to run through his design sketches- these were then modelled on AutoCAD by our team, manufactured in our Sheffield workshop and duly installed by our own fitting team. The overall design concept was one that uses modern materials and straight-line design techniques, with hand-picked climbing plants to eventually cover the system and provide a truly unique living space. It will be great to see the garden in a few years once the plants have matured.
As part of the same project, we also designed and fabricated a small steel staircase and decking platform to complete the hard landscaping on this project. All the base steelwork was galvanized and powdercoated to anthracite grey RAL 7016 and the wires used were stainless steel G316 for external use; the combination of both, providing a very contemporary visual effect.
This project is a great example of one of the many jobs we undertake with bespoke requirements- although of course we offer a range of ‘standard’ products via our website, we are primarily architectural steel fabricators and can service a much wider range of requests than can be seen in our website categories.
