General update
The weather is warming up as we swing into what is one of our busiest manufacture periods here at DioMet – the building sites are a hive of activity for commercial trade works like our steel fire escape stairs and access handrails and public sales are on the rise as clients look to improve their outdoor space with glass balustrades and balconies.
In line with our steady ongoing expansion strategy, we have employed a new member to the team, Sarah, to look after all our day-to-day dispatch and order tracking to cope with the increase in sales volume and maintain our enviable reputation for customer service and satisfaction.
Some recently completed jobs include our extensive works to Sheffield Children’s Hospital for main contractor Simons Construction (more info to follow) and a whole host of smaller projects for private customers including:
Supply and installation of glazed entrance canopies
Our customer Kay had previously employed our services to design, manufacture and install bespoke gates and railings to her property, see blog here ….and has come back to DioMet for the supply and installation of 2no. glass entrance canopies.
The glass canopies are a bespoke wide-span variation of our ornate glass canopy with central support spars to support the weight of the glass centrally. Each glazed entrance canopy is manufactured from galvanized and powdercoated steelwork and finished in a RAL colour 7016 to match the external windows and doors and complete with toughened safety glass covering.
Supply and delivery of metal decking railings
One of our most popular ‘standard’ products is our wavy decking panel which can be used to create affordable balcony and railing systems with ease. Our most recent customer David has used them in conjunction with straight panels and stained timber to create a new patio seating area at his property. At just £10 each, these panels offer a considerable saving over bespoke fabricated systems and are ready for collection or delivery from stock.
Supply and installation of access staircase
Our customer Karen required a new set of building regulation compliant steps to access the garden from the kitchen in her newly built home. The staircase treads are galvanized finish only and the stringers and support steelwork galvanized and powdercoated to match the new windows and doors.
Tip : DioMet do not advise powdercoating treads on frequently used staircases as the paintwork will eventually wear and require maintenance.
The staircase will be fitted with stainless steel balustrading with handrails at a later date.
