Dio-Met supply goods to both the public and trade sectors and this recent example was for a client’s private rear garden including our frameless glass channel balustrade and stainless steel access handrails.

A frameless glass balustrade system is a popular choice for modern, low maintenance gardens; the simplistic design looks attractive, is easy to install and provides a building regulation complaint safety barrier. This example uses 15mm clear toughened glass with stainless steel slotted handrail to meet a loading of 0.74kN at 1100mm high.

Our client Dawn arranged a survey and from here Dio-Met provided a design, manufactured and delivered the glass balustrade and handrails for DIY assembly. Installation of a handrail and most balustrades is a simple task for any competent builder or tradesperson.

Typically a glass infill should be used to infill the steps section also (per BS6180 requirements) – All customers are made aware of the relevant building regulations and proceed with any non-complaint design at their own risk and knowledge.
