Ok it’s only February and it’s still bloomin’ cold outside but our heavy duty steel washing line poles are still bizarrely popular all year round. Whether you’re a keen bean getting your garden ready for spring and summer, replacing an old rotten / broken clothes pole or simply jazzing up your garden, we have a metal clothes pole for you!

When installing a clothes line system into your garden, you can either use one pole and affix the other end of the line to a wall or outbuilding (see our matching wall brackets) or use two poles and fix a line between them. For longer systems you could either use a clothes line prop in the centre, or introduce additional clothes line posts to support the line.

A typical steel washing pole is 2.4metres long with circa 0.5metres going into the ground however for sloping gardens and longer lines, a longer pole might be required. Dio-Met currently offer metal washing poles in 3metres and 3.5metres long also.

When installing a washing line pole, this can be as simple as digging a hole and concreting the post into the ground. Many customers however wish to remove the posts to make room to mow the grass, have a game of footy or host a garden party- for this reason we also supply an optional galvanized steel ground socket that will make the post removeable for when not in use.
