Dio-Met’s walk-out balcony systems are extremely popular, particularly in our home town of Sheffield where many houses are built on one of our seven hills and enjoy far reaching views of the city and countryside- particularly at first floor level!

A new balcony will add functional space to your property and can be made as large or small as you like, subject to obtaining the relevant planning permissions of course. A first floor walk-on balcony structure was supplied and installed in this example, complete with steel access staircase and frameless-glass channel balustrades throughout- the full specification is listed below :

• All base metalwork hot-dip galvanized and powdercoated in anthracite grey RAL 7016 to match the newly installed first floor French doors.
• Aluminium base channel style frameless glass balustrades at 900mm high on the steps and 1100mm high on all landing areas.
• 15mm toughened glass used to staircase in conjunction with 42mm diameter stainless steel slotted handrails.
• 17.5mm toughened and laminated glass to all landing areas; complete with frosted glass panels to the neighbouring elevation.
• Steel trimmer joists and grey composite decking the balcony platform.
• Adjoining metal staircase with non-slip checkerplate treads.

Dio-Met completed a full service of site survey, design, manufacture and installation of this walk-out balcony, steel staircase and frameless glass balustrade system. The works are completed and signed off with our UKCA certification as is legally required for any such structural products.

This project was completed within a timescale of circa 6-8 weeks and erected by our own skilled installation team; we never use subcontractors.
