Modern Glass Fireplace Feature
Modern Glass ‘Fireplace’
Toughened glass is one of our favourite materials to use when creating any modern design – it just oozes a feeling of luxury and helps to create a contemporary looking product. Our latest project has just completed; a modern recessed glass fireplace.
The fireplace is constructed using 3 different types of toughened glass:
1) The fireplace front fascia
The front panel of glass is constructed from 10mm clear toughened safety glass complete with a back painted black border. The black border creates the ‘fireplace’ effect that is seen on most modern fire systems.
2) The cracked-ice rear panel
The striking effect of the whole design comes from the rear pane of crackle glass. The effect is formed by using a triple layer of laminated glass with the internal pane being broken to create the smashed rippling effect. When backlit with LEDs the cracked ice glass panel reflects light with a mesmerising glow.
3) The crushed glass ‘lava’
The final piece of the fireplace puzzle is created with crushed glass which is spread over the base of the design. The underside of the crushed glass is again backlit with LEDs to help create a visual fire effect that reflects up through the crushed lava-effect particles.
“Dear Dio-Met,
I would just like to again thank you for all your assistance in helping to create my fireplace design, it looks absolutely amazing! The advice and assistance you provided was invaluable and the service I received from start to finish has been brilliant. Everybody who visits asks about our fireplace and I feel we have achieved the wow-factor product we set out to build. I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending your company to everybody I meet!
Many thanks again
Lee.
