Dio-Met supply walk-over glass well top covers throughout the UK through a courier network or are made available for collection from our workshop in Sheffield. These glass well top panels are generally used to cover newly discovered water wells in homes and gardens in order to make them into a feature.

This latest example comes from our customer Andy who kindly emailed over a few pictures of his recently installed DioMet Glass Well Cover and was quite rightly delighted with the end result which took centre-stage in his brand new kitchen design as below picture:

Andy had uncovered an old water wall in his house when renovating and as part of the kitchen remodelling decided to create a truly stunning feature with the use of a glass well top cover to sit flush within the new quartz worktop. The brick well was built up to the worktop height and a steel frame installed to provide a protective edge for the glass to seat within. The end result being a worktop / breakfast bar area with spotlights directed to the deep well running through the centre, topped with a glass well cover.

The glazing used is our 25.5mm toughened and laminated clear glass which is safe to walk on and completed with a 50mm black painted border for a clean, attractive finish from above. The glass well top in this example is unlikely to be walked on in its day-to-day use but still needed to be safe just in case, especially with adventurous children taking an interest!

Here at Dio-Met we have supplied thousands of glass well top covers but we don’t always get to see the end result however this one is a bit special and really does create a unique wow factor in a design we have never seen done before. The brick well is vented through the sides to prevent any condensation building up.
