The structural glass system was based on our system 7 glass balustrade and installed to a mezzanine floor over the hallway of a private domestic building. Toughened and laminated glass was used with stainless steel fittings…..and not much else”

Frameless glass balustrade designs are always popular as they offer a clean and modern finish with no obstructing posts or handrails being required, especially on landings and mezzanine platforms. The glass used, where no handrail is present, must be both toughened and laminated to conform to BS6180 building regulations.

This particular internal balcony project was completed for our customer Vanessa in Oxfordshire. The system was a variation of our ever popular system 7 frameless glass balustrade design which quite simply comprises only the toughened and laminated glass itself and side mounted stainless steel fixing glass clamps.

The internal glass system was bolted into the structural timbers behind and provided a contemporary, modern and airy feel to the mezzanine floor area within the hallway area of the residence. Installation was completed over the course of one day and budget costs for a similar system in this size would be circa £2,400 supplied and installed inclusive of VAT.
