Galvanised Steel Glass Balustrade System 9

The most affordable steel balustrade in our range: hot-dip galvanised steel posts and handrail with 10mm toughened glass infill. It is left in its bright galvanised finish, that slightly mottled industrial silver, which many people like as-is on decking, balconies, stairs and around commercial and outbuilding settings. If you want a colour, the same frame can be powder-coated (see System 10). Buy it by the metre online or ask us to quote a bespoke run. Made at our Sheffield factory, supply-only as a self-install kit or fitted by us anywhere in the UK.

The value option in the steel range

Galvanising is the workhorse finish: dipped in molten zinc, the steel shrugs off the weather for decades with no upkeep, which is why it is a favourite where durability matters more than colour. It costs less than our stainless System 1 and less than the powder-coated System 10, so if you are after a tough, compliant glass balustrade at the keenest price, this is the one. It is UKCA marked and building-regulation compliant.

Fitting it

The clamps and handrail connector come on the posts and the base plate is pre-drilled with three holes, so a competent DIYer can bolt a straight run together from the instructions supplied. We are on the end of the phone if you need a hand. Would rather we did it? Add installation to the quote and our team will fit it.

How to order

Choose your meterage and number of corners on the online calculator and order. We follow up with a drawing to approve, adjust anything needed, and only then build it, so what turns up is exactly what you signed off. Stairs, angled sections and one-offs are quoted individually, so call 0114 243 9009 or send an enquiry for those.

Delivery and lead times

Usually around five weeks from order, though it varies with the workshop schedule, and we will arrange a delivery weekday to suit you.

International delivery

We ship worldwide. On made-to-measure runs we quote overseas carriage per order once we have the sizes and delivery address, crated to travel safely.

Looking after it

About as low-maintenance as it gets. Galvanised steel needs no real upkeep and lasts decades in the weather; if you add the powder-coat option, that just wants the occasional wipe-down.
