Now there is a debate over which hills form the ‘Seven Hills of Sheffield’ which we won’t get into, but we know for sure that one of those is home to the lovely village of Stannington; an area in the civil parish of Bradfield on the western edge of Sheffield.
Stannington is located on a hill between the River Rivelin and the River Loxley and many of the houses along both ridges have stunning views over one of the valleys. We have completed plenty of work in Stannington for customers who want to take advantage of the exceptional views, usually with different variations of our glass balustrade designs and here is our latest example.
Our customer Ben was recommended by his neighbour Helen for whom we had recently completed a frameless glass balustrade system to her raised terrace. Ben’s new patio area had stunning views across the Rivelin Valley and quite rightly, he wanted to take advantage of them with one of our glass balustrade designs.
The design chosen was a variation our System 2 Glass Balustrade to the main patio and seating area to maximise views, using 17.5mm thick laminated glass panels and our System 1 Glass Balustade was used to the stairs, incorporating a handrail for access to the lower garden level. The side screens to his left hand neighbour were frosted / opaque glass to provide privacy and those on the right side, are the frosted panels from his neighbours balustrade we installed recently.
