Glass Spigot System
Glass Spigot System
“Our floor mounted glass spigot system is easy to install and available in a range of sizes online, or made to order as required. This blog has pictures supplied by our most recent customer who used the glass spigot system for a low-level patio seating area….”
A glass spigot system is a simple and effective solution to form a glass barrier for demarcation of areas, wind protection or as privacy screens when used with frosted glass and always at a fraction of the cost of other frameless glass balustrade systems.
The spigot design should however only be used for low level patios that do not guard any fall in height above 600mm as otherwise a structural glass balustrade system should be used instead such as our frameless base channel or side fixing designs.
What could be easier than installing a few clamps on the ground and inserting some glass panels? Well, not much and in this example that is exactly what our customer chose to do, with the addition of an upright stainless steel end post to provide further stability to the system at the steps entrance.
This glass spigot system provides an effective barrier to the small step in height down to the lower patio level and encloses a lovely seating area whilst also acting functionally as a wind screen without being intrusive or spoiling the view to the garden area.
Installation of such a glass spigot screen is super easy- just screw down the spigot clamps, insert the glass and tighten up the fixings. The spigot positions are not set along the glass, so can be adjusted as required to best suit the patio area and equally spaced on each glass panel.
