The sun may only shine a few months of the year in the UK, or be ‘hotter than Ibiza’ once a year but that can be enough to create a lovely sun-shaded area in your garden. Sun shades are especially popular with households including children or older persons who would benefit from an area of sun-respite.
Our range of sun shade sail post and accessories can now be seen online and currently include our heavy duty shade sail posts, ground sockets, pulleys, wall brackets and tension turnbuckles. Our sun shade poles are all made to order and typically take 2-3 weeks to produce and as always, bespoke variations will always be available.
Creating a shade sail system is reasonably straight forward for most competent DIYers and typically require a combination of our available accessories, depending on whether house walls are being used for support or if the shade sail is supported by posts alone.
Tips for shade-sail installation:
- Use a supporting house wall where possible, with our shade sail wall brackets
- Install shade sail posts at 10degree angle away from the sail
- Use ground sockets so that the whole system can be removed when not in use
- Introduce more tolerance when installing by using tension turnbuckles
- Use a fast-setting solution such as Postcrete to install the sun shade poles
All our heavy duty sun shade sail posts are made in our workshop in Sheffield and dispatched by courier for delivery nationwide, or collections welcome. The posts are made from strong, weatherproof galvanized steel with the option to be powdercoated black. Each pole has a fixed eye-bolt at the top to secure your shade-sail.
