How to Install Heavy Duty Line Posts
How to Install Heavy Duty Line Posts | UK Outdoor Solutions
Revamp your outdoor space with Dio-Met Fabrications Ltd’s guide to installing a heavy duty line post- whether for modern or traditional washing lines. Perfect for saving energy during spring and summer, our stainless steel or galvanized line posts (available in styles like fleur de lys finials or loop and cleat designs) are manufactured in our Sheffield workshops for longevity. Whether in Brighton, Scotland or beyond, our nationwide service ensures delivery to your doorstep.
What You’ll Need:
- Dio-Met heavy duty line post – See our Online Shop for styles and options
- Fence post tool or spade.
- Rapid-setting Postcrete or similar
- Water and spirit level.
- Optional: G-clamp and timber offcuts.
Installation Steps:
- Select your spot, avoiding drains or cables (use a CAT scanner if unsure), and dig a circa 50cm deep, 30cm wide hole.
- Position the post loosely, adjusting height as needed. Where our ground socket is used, this can be placed into the hole first with the pole inserted.
- Use a spirit level to align the post, securing with a G-clamp and length of timber to hold secure whilst the concrete sets.
- Fill with Postcrete, rechecking level before it sets (10 minutes, full cure in 24 hours).
