Powdercoated Glass Balustrade Sheffield
Powdercoated Glass Balustrade
“Anthracite grey is a common colour for many UPVC windows, doors and guttering systems and is therefore a regularly requested colour for our glass balustrade and balcony handrails to match. This example project shows our System 10 powdercoated steel and glass balustrade with clear toughened glass infill panels”
Our customer Robert from Sheffield approached us for the survey, design, manufacture and installation of a powdercoated steel and glass balustrade system to his new patio area and stepped wall. The glass balustrade was required as a safety barrier to protect a fall in height of approximately 2 metres from the patio to the lower ground level and was requested in an anthracite grey paint colour to match with the existing guttering system.
After an initial consultation at our offices, Robert booked a site survey to take accurate dimensions and firm up a quote whilst also providing a sample offcut of the guttering system for colour matching purposes. Following site survey, we attended site to fully template the uneven curve to the stepped wall and progress the balustrade into an AutoCAD drawing for approval.
The system chosen was our tubular design framed glass balustrade system 10 which comprises upright baluster posts with cover plates, 42mm round handrail and pressure clamped toughened glass infill panels. All metalwork was hot-dip galvanized, fettled and powdercoated to RAL 7016 anthracite grey.
The balustrade was manufactured to the standard regulation height of 1100mm and core-drill and grout fixed into the new masonry wall- although it may not be clear from the pictures, the stepped sections also follow a gradual slope that would not give a professional finish on a ‘bolt down’ style base plate.
