Ongoing Project – Trent Basin - Nottingham
“Working for main contractor Wilmott Dixon on phase 2 of their Trent Basin project in Nottingham, Dio-Met have been employed to supply and install various structural steelwork components including beams, lintels and columns to 31no. Individual units”
Trent Basin is being billed as Nottingham’s most exciting and high profile residential development, building 500 low-energy new homes for the area on a brownfield site on the north bank of the River Trent opposite Lady Bay nature reserve.
Phase 2 of the project will see 31 homes built featuring balconies and roof terraces to provide views across the river or cityscape to the north- Dio-Met will provide various mild steel galvanized and powdercoated juliet balconies, glass balustrades, privacy screens and support steelwork to meet the design criteria.
The above schematic shows the design intent and scope of works for Phase 2 , dipicting a large walk out balcony terrace to the far right with glass balustrade overlooking the River Trent and a series of other smaller balconies nestled within an attractive, modern design of differing facades. The new homes are styled on the popular town-house design over 3 floors to take economical advantage of their footprint and provide pleasant views of the nature reserve.
Initial works to the project include various structural steelwork in the form of primer painted steel support beams, columns and lintels to provide the ‘bones’ of the development prior to installation of the secondary architectural steelwork balconies and balustrades. In addition to this, Dio-Met are also contracted to supply and install walk-out balcony structures, pergola support brackets and various privacy screens between units.
