Bespoke Steel Fabrications
At Dio-Met our company tagline is ‘Specialist Architectural Metalworkers’ and living up to that description brings us a wide variety of bespoke work and enquiries from clients all over the UK. The tagline term is of course vague as it encompasses a vast array of potential projects and products to service the construction, retail, commercial and leisure industries.
Dio-Met Fabrications Ltd was founded in 1991 and since then you’d be amazed at all the weird and wonderful projects that we have undertaken from bespoke artwork, retail display units, feature staircases and podiums to snazzy fish tanks and tables – the list is endless. We relish the opportunity to work with architects, designers and creative individuals to keep our work varied and interesting- who knows what projects will arise in the future? We don’t, and that excites us a lot.
Being flexible to customer requirements is our Unique Selling Point and is the reason many clients will recommend our services to others and return with repeat business again and again. The wealth of knowledge from the ground up in our company is priceless, from skilled fabricators and installers to creative designers and CAD technicians, we can assist where most other companies fail – even on small projects!
Below is a small selection of the varied bespoke metalwork projects we have undertaken and completed recently:
This staircase project was a full service of survey, design, manufacture and installation to replace a rotten existing stair which had become unsafe. The homeowner was an engineer himself and worked closely with our team to create a curved canopy system to provide sheltered access at the top of the new stairwell landing area. The staircase was fitted with anti-slip treads and finished in matching anthracite grey paintwork.
The glass balustrade system chosen by our client was required to incorporate an access panel to the patio area below in order to provide a convenient link between the kitchen and the seating area . The hinged glass panel worked a treat and allowed our customer to pass a tray of drinks and biscuits down to be enjoyed on the lower patio. The whole glass system was designed with 10mm clear toughened glass and stainless steel posts, fixtures and handrails for a modern and contemporary look.
This garden show design was an interesting project to undertake which included a large stainless steel framework to form the garden centrepiece with a metal tray to form a ‘river’ flowing through the middle. The whole design concept was to showcase the importance of stainless steel and mimicked the flow of molton steel from a couldren (plant pot). The background wall was created from pressed stainless steel sheets to replicate the Sheffield ‘Cheesegrater’ building.
