Garden Steel Staircase
“This blog features a galvanized and powdercoated metal staircase for a domestic property in Sheffield. The staircase is a straight flight design from garden level to a first floor balcony area at the rear of our client's property….”
Replacing an old timber staircase is often essential after several years once the timber has started degrading, rotting and becoming dangerous to use for access- this is a familiar story and many of our steel staircases replace ‘like for like’ old timber versions.
Steel staircases are robust and built to last- All base steelwork is hot-dip galvanized; a process that makes the steelwork weatherproof for over 25 years. On top of the galvanizing, steel is often powdercoated to apply a paint colour- black in the below example.
Our client Perry in Sheffield required a new steel staircase complete with metal railings to both sides to meet the level of an existing balcony area. This stair design was softened with the inclusion of pan-style treads complete with composite deck board toppers. DioMet completed a full service with site surveys, design, fabrication and installation.
All our metal staircases and railing systems are made-to-order and made to last with substantial construction materials and high quality finishes. All structural steelwork is fully certified and supplied with the relevant UKCA certification as is required for building regulation sign off per BS EN 1090 regs.
Fabrication of all our steelwork is completed in our Sheffield workshop and we only ever use our own fitters, never subcontractors, in order to maintain our high levels of project control and quality assurance.
