This example walk-on glass trap door system is one of our Streamline Wine Cellar Doors with a minimalistic style handle built into the outer frame and discreet lock in the far corner of the steelwork hatch.

London is a perfect example of an area where building footprint comes at a high premium and many homeowners are digging new basements or finding creative ways to make use of available space. Our wine-cellar glass door system not only creates a ‘wow-factor’ aesthetic but also helps to create real functional space under the floor void.

Charles got in touch to arrange the manufacture of a bespoke sized hinged glass floor system to fit over the access to his new wine cellar display / storage area in a new kitchen extension; he had fully lined the basement void with tiled floors, brick walls and built in some racks for his wine and champagne, all finished off with a small ladder for access.

Our walk-over wine cellar door systems are supplied fully assembled and simple to install for any local builder, tradesperson or competent DIYer. The glass used is 1 inch thick toughened and laminated safety floor glass and completely safe to walk on, set into an opening steelwork frame and operated on gas strut actuators.

Once Charles had completed his kitchen, he kindly emailed over a few finished photos as he was quite rightly delighted with the end result………..and so was his cat.
