Our hinged glass floor systems are extremely popular as wine-cellar doors and basement access hatches and we now offer a version to suit circular openings, acting as a hybrid design between this product and our fixed glass well covers.

This round glass well cover system is a partial-opening unit, whereby approximately three-quarters of the area will lift up via the gas-strut actuators to allow access to the well void beneath. The glass lid will open and close with the assistance of the gas-strut and hold in the open position to allow access.

Some customers might use this hinged round well cover system to access a room below, as a wine cellar door / storage display unit or simply as a convenient means of changing a lightbulb in a standard well opening; otherwise the glass panel would need to be cut out each time from a silicone sealed unit and re-set.

Our openable circular well cover is available upto 1400mm diameter and always made-to-order, typically taking around 8 weeks. Each glass panel used is 25.5mm thick, toughened and laminated walk-on safety glass and sealed into a powdercoated steel framework. Frames and glass borders can be painted to different colours if required.

All metalwork is fully UKCA certified and the glass designed to be capable of meeting the loadings set out in BS EN 1991-1-1: 2002 Actions on Structures.

Dio-Met design and manufacture all metalwork in our Sheffield workshops and dispatch nationwide by courier for DIY installation. Each hinged well cover is supplied fully assembled and simple to install for any competent builder or tradesperson.
