Spiral Wine Cellar Hatch / Hinged Glass Floor Lid

As we expand our range of hinged glass floor systems, here is ‘one we made earlier’ and is currently being prepared for shipment to Norway. This hinged glass floor is a bespoke round version to cover a large round opening above a spiral staircase leading down to a wine cellar.  

This large round wine cellar glass floor system was too large to hinge in one section so we designed a split-top system whereby 75% of the area opens, and hinges from the remaining fixed section. The overall diameter of the spiral stair unit is 1100mm and this bespoke hinged glass door will provide access to the wine cellar below and a safe, structural glass panel to walk on from above.

This particular unit is currently being prepared for shipment to Norway and delivery to our client Lars, who will hopefully provide some finished photographs once installed. This type of round hinged floor design is a common request and we hope to have some better photographs ‘in situ’ available soon. We believe we have developed a significantly cheaper version of what is currently available on the market, and all totally bespoke rather than being tied to set-sizes as we are the in house manufacturers of our own products. 

Also coming soon is our round hinged wine cellar door, which will be available at a maximum size of 800mm diameter as a fully-openable unit. Anything larger would need to be designed around the same principle as the pictures above, having a small fixed section to reduce the overall span.
