Custom Balustrade Solution for Irregular Shaped Balcony in Norton, Sheffield

We recently had the pleasure of working on an exciting project for our client, Matthew, in Norton, Sheffield. Matthew's balcony had a completely irregular shape, which required meticulous surveying and design work to create a custom solution where any standard balustade style would not be suitable; one that not only looks great but is also structurally sound and safe.

Our team developed a bespoke parapet wall glass balustrade system, which is building regulation compliant and UKCA marked. This system was designed to address the challenges posed by the irregular shape of the balcony, as well as the cavity wall construction. The steelwork for the balustrade was galvanized and powder coated in anthracite grey to match the existing windows and doors of the property, ensuring a seamless integration with the overall aesthetic.

The construction of the balustrade featured 120 x 60mm rectangular box section steel horizontal rails, custom base plates, and wall bracketry. The 10mm toughened safety glass with polished edges and radius corners provided a sleek and modern look to the balcony. Our expert team ensured that the maximum span without any central fixing was 5.5 meters, guaranteeing the safety and stability of the balustrade.
