Staircase Replacement London
Need a replacement metal staircase? Here’s a recent example of an old, tired staircase which no longer meets current regulations being replaced with a brand new steel stair in the London area for a private customer. The old stair was dismantled and removed, with a new stair fabricated and installed to replace it.
Our customer Jon came to us in search of a new steel staircase after receiving some silly quotes from local contractors at ‘London prices’ . Ultimately we ended up providing Jon with the following service level :
- Quotation / Estimate from rough sizes and pictures sent at enquiry stage
- Detailed site survey of the staircase requirement
- Full AutoCAD design service for a bespoke replacement stair
- Manufacture of new stairs in galvanized and powdercoated finish
- Removal and disposal of existing metal stair
- Professional installation of new staircase
The old staircase was very steep and gave Jon difficulty accessing his garden safely- The tread spacings did not conform to current building regulations and given the frequency of use, Jon made the decision to replace them.
The new steel stairs were supplied with a ‘cheesegrater’ style tread which Jon had indicated he preferred and all materials were galvanized and powdercoated for a long lasting, maintenance free finish.
The whole staircase project took around 4-5 weeks to complete.
