Wine Cellar Door Hatch- London
Wine Cellar Door Hatch- London
“Our lovely client Frances in London has kindly provided some completed photos of their hinged glass floor system which acts as a wine cellar basement door with access from the centre of the kitchen area. It’s a big one, and it looks mightily impressive now installed….”
This hinged glass floor system measures 2000 x 800mm, one of our largest single-opening* sizes with the maximum available being 2000mm x 1000mm at present. This unit almost entirely fills the kitchen floor space and covers the basement wine cellar, allowing both functional access, light transfer to the basement and wow-factor aesthetics.
*Wider systems are available but feature fixed glass panels to one or both sides.
Our hinged basement door system uses a 25.5mm thick structural walk on glass panel set within a steel framework and openable with the assistance of heavy duty gas-strut actuators. The door will hold open at circa 85degrees and allow access to a basement or wine cellar as can be seen in this photo.
Using a glass panel instead of a timber door not only provides natural light down into the basement but also creates a stunning visual feature that all your guests are going to love! This system was made lockable to ensure safety and provide peace of mind when children are around.
Our customer Frances very kindly sent through some completed photos of the hinged wine cellar glass door system and left a review stating :
We removed a staircase leading down into a small basement and fitted the hatch into the floor which was an aesthetic and practical solution. The hydraulic mechanism works really well and we’re thrilled with the result. The whole process was very easy and I wouldn’t hesitate in giving this company the very highest recommendation.
